Job Title:  Social Worker III               Full-time

Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri is seeking a compassionate, professional Social Worker for our early childhood center to assist in prevention, early identification and intervention to children and family services to eligible children and families in a preschool setting who seek help for mental health related concerns. This individual will provide case management, counseling/therapy services in our Hilltop early childhood center. 

DUTIES  Provide effective counseling, advocacy and case management to children at our Hilltop early childhood center. Maintain and complete client records.  Will provide case management and innovative implementation of the Hilltop pre-k to third grade model. Will establish and maintain appropriate current community networks and interactions in cooperation with Hilltop leadership and staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS  REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Social Worker III: Master of Social Work and Professional licensure (LCSW). Four years of experience with early childhood population preferred.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Established social work and case management practices. Computer programs and time management skills. Code of ethics; legal processes and procedures; accreditation and licensure standards; counseling theories and practices; mental health assessment and diagnosis; therapeutic models and interventions; foster care and adoptive issues.  Hague compliance factors and required training for intercountry adoptions. Effective presentation skills. Self-motivated and self-management skills. Ability to function on a team. Effective skills in written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; climb up to 2 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to access, enter, modify, and retrieve data on a personal computer. The employee is also required to read, write, and speak the English language.
